Helpful Hints

Before you leave on vacation:

  1. Call or email Watch My Home.
  2. Turn off outside water faucets.
  3. Turn off washing machine water faucets.
  4. Unplug televisions, small appliances.
  5. Put Timers on Lights.
  6. Throw out perishables in the refrigerator and any other food that may spoil.
  7. Empty garbage can.
  8. Close and lock all windows.
  9. Unplug your automatic garage door/s to prevent accidental opening.
  10. Create and safely store an inventory of your home, so you will know what is missing if you are burglarized.
  11. Avoid public talk of travel plans – nobody needs to know you are going to Las Vegas on the weekends.
  12. Store patio furniture and ladders inside to prevent access into that second story window.
  13. Do not hide your key outside, especially under the welcome mat.
